File preparation
for printing
I. FILE FORMATS:
- Recommended: PDF (PDFx/1a:200 standard)
- Also accepted: EPS, TIFF, JPG, or CDR (with fonts converted to curves)
II. COLOR MODE:
- Color jobs: composite CMYK (no separations)
- B&W jobs: black & white or grayscale mode
III. FILE PREPARATION:
- Bleed: extend 3 mm beyond cut line on each side
- Important elements must be at least 4 mm from cut lines
- All text must be converted to curves
- Min font size: 6 pt (single color), 8 pt (multi-color)
- Min line thickness: 0.1 pt
- Black text on color backgrounds: use overprint
- Rich black: use C:50%, M:50%, Y:50%, K:100%
- White objects must not have overprint enabled (use knockout)
- Image resolution: 150 DPI for large formats, 300 DPI for small formats
- Graphics must not contain ICC profiles or OPI comments
- Include preview files for jobs with cutting, creasing, white underprint, double-sided print, etc.
- White underprint must be defined as a spot color with overprint enabled, placed above CMYK layer
- Cut/crease/frez paths: define as spot colors with overprint
IV. PRINT DIMENSIONS:
- Surfaces must be flat and dust-free
- Max print size:
- Materials up to 50 mm thick: 2500×1250 mm
- Materials up to 150 mm thick: 420×300 mm
- Materials up to 50 mm thick: 2500×1250 mm
V. FILE DELIVERY:
- Files under 10 MB: email attachment
- Larger files: via FTP or file sharing services (WeTransfer, Dropbox, etc.)
